NIPIKA (PADDLE AND HIKE) -- The Kootenay is a mountainous river run starting in Kootenay National Park, near the continental divide. Nipika EcoLodge is nestled in this wilderness, with the Kootenay flowing past. Our 5 day adventure includes 5 nights at Nipika, with day hikes up Mitchell Ridge to view Mt. Assiniboine and to Cochrane Then we will enjoy a 2 day trips paddling the Kootenay River. We will pass many fascinating features: the Cross River natural bridge, tufa deposits and wind and water sculpted Hoodoos. The river flows swiftly, with class I and II rapids interspersed. In our sable and forgiving SOARS canoes, anyone can enjoy this fun stretch of river.
