RIVERS OF
THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS --
This expedition is designed to sample some of Scotland’s
best canoeing and experience something of the culture and history
that is all part of what it means to be Scots. On the expedition,
we will canoe on both the Rivers Spey and Tay. The Spey is
a classic Scottish river descent, culminating in fantastic
views out to sea, paddling with seals that have entered the
mouth of the river and observing dolphins in the bay. Then
we’ll drive to the River Tay, which has Scotland’s
greatest river volume. We’ll start on Loch Tay, with
fantastic mountain views, and descend towards the North Sea.
Passing through rich farmland, we’ll encounter a variety
of rapids. The expedition will finish in Dunkeld, where we
will overnight before returning to Edinburgh.
