The Kanairitktok valley is home to a vast number of black bear, timber wolves, moose, woodland caribou and wolverines. At 355 km in length, it is the longest river in Labrador, starting at the Labrador-Quebec border and emptying into the Atlantic Ocean near Hopedale.
