FIRTH
RIVER --
The Yukon’s Firth River starts in the Davidson Mountains and flows past
limestone peaks, through steep, canyons and on to the coastal plain of the Beaufort
Sea. The upper Firth is a clear stream, surrounded by spectacular mountainous.
Hiking here is a must. After this, the whitewater starts, continuing through
a 40 km canyon, including rock gardens, constrictions, ledges and tight corners.
The last section of the route is across the coastal plain - another very unique
environment. This is an exceptionally diverse trip, with some very challenging
rapids for the experienced paddler. It will be raft-assisted. You may opt to
paddle a SOAR canoe, which will make the whitewater easier. By permission
