FAMILY DUMOINE -- This trip is for adults and children - an opportunity to share a real wilderness adventure with your family - while we look after all the details and logistics. Like the Dumoine Getaway this trip paddles the exciting lower 60 km of the Dumoine from Lac Benoit. We either drive or fly into the river in the morning so we have an extra day for instruction and time to adjust the pace for kids. We’ll gain confidence as we play in the rapids and help each other over the portage. Take time out to swim, fish, take pictures, or try cooking with the guides around the fire when we reach our campsite. With lots of things to do together the kids will find it easy to make new friends. We all share in the trip activities - setting up camp, scouting rapids, cooking, paddling, reading the map etc. but the guides take the pressure off the parents so they can enjoy time with their family, each other and the activities.

The trip involves some very real whitewater and several portages. Ideally both parents and children will have some previous experience canoeing and camping. Most kids are 11 or older although more skilled parents could bring younger children.

Previous experience on our Family French River trip and /or Whitewater Canoe Clinic is a excellent preparation for this great family adventure.
